Kenichi Otsuka
Specialised in glaciology at Toyama University where he studied the snow around Tateyama. His research led him to become a frequent visitor to the Tateyama area, which he fell in love with. After graduating from university, he worked in the Tateyama Mountain Hut before beginning his career as a tour conductor. He qualified as a mountain climbing guide and set up his business, Travearth, in 2010. He shows tourists around Tateyama from a range of perspectives, including on small-party trekking tours, stargazing camping tours, and glacier tours.
